The New Year brings New Homes for Buxton Dogs

As the operation at the Portland facility winds down over the next few weeks, the last of the Buxton puppy mill dogs and pups will be placed for adoption. Over the last month, The Animal Welfare Society and The Animal Refuge League, lead agencies in caring for these animals, have been finding new loving homes for them taking care to make sure adopters are well informed about what to expect from each individual dog. Since then, AWS has been doing follow-up calls to find out how things are going and to make sure that the new adoptive families know they have a resource here for working through any potential problems.

People who are interested in adopting are encouraged to keep checking our website as these dogs and pups will be posted when ready for adoption. Both shelters are still in need of monetary donations.
