Mini Aussies, Shelties, American Bulldogs and most recently Shih Tzus have found new loving homes, some having only been born since the seizure. The adoptions have excited some local media and both The Animal Welfare Society and The Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland have been happy with the way things have been going. Still, both agencies who've been caring for the animals every single day since the seizure, have a long road ahead of them. The fervor with which these animals have been received has created even more exposure for the rest of the dog, cat and small animal population and, even though the pups have gotten the most attention, the society continues to advocate for all of its animals in need of homes.

People who are interested in adopting are encouraged to keep checking our website as these dogs and pups will be posted when ready for adoption. Both shelters are still in need of monetary donations.
