The long awaited decision of when or whether the custody of the seized puppy mill dogs will be awarded to the state wears on with the latest news that the Frascas are now filing a 900 millon dollar lawsuit against local and state agencies over the closing of the kennel. For the Animal Welfare Society and The Animal Refuge League whoÕve been caring for the 250 dogs since August 21st, it means bracing themselves once more for another leg of this seemingly never-ending journey. Éa leg that may take them well into the new year. Still, the two shelters remain stoic and united on their mission to care for these animals for as long as it takes. The Portland facility will see some new faces this week with in-coming recruits from CMDART who will help lighten the burden.

Bedding, stuffed animals and monetary donations are greatly appreciated.
