FOR
IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
The day starts promptly at 8am when the dogs get their morning medication (if needed) followed by breakfast. This, says , Assistant Shelter Manager Shannon Nutting-Hall, staff try to get done by 9am so they can begin the ardous task of cleaning kennels for 130 dogs and pups. "There's a lot of work, but everyone here has been absolutely wonderful. We've got great people...we just need more of them." After cleaning comes an hour of "quiet time" for the dogs while the staff take their well-deserved lunch break. After lunch is play time which serves as a great incentive for the staff while they are doing the morning cleaning. Afternoon also is a time for special projects and receiving and organizing deliveries. By 3pm it's time for meds and dinner after which the workers do a final poop scoop and top off with clean blankets, new toys and fresh water. Staff then prepare for the next day by restocking shelves and getting all ready to do it all over again!
