Case Pending/Lives in Limbo
As the authorized 21 days to appeal the court's decision wane, shelter workers continue to prepare for an exodus of over 180 dogs and pups to a new Portland-based facility. On Wednesday, September 26th, a judge ruled that the seized animals are now the property of the state. People need to know that the status of these animals is still uncertain and they are not available for adoption. If and/or when they do become available it will be posted on our website immediately so you are the first to know
Many of the dogs and pups continue to be treated for various ailments, (some with zoonotic diseases), but they have shown great improvement both mentally and physically throughout the last 39 days. A good diet, veterinary care, grooming and exercise have all contributed to this conversion and, in the event that they do become available for adoption, many must complete medical treatment and behavioral therapeutics before being placed.
