Frascas Snub Court/Dogs Ruled Property of the State

In an interesting turn of events the owners of the seized Buxton puppy mill who were scheduled to appear in Biddeford District Court yesterday intentionally failed to appear triggering a decision from the judge to turn custody of the animals over to the state. Heidi and John Frasca have 21 days to appeal this decision.

Meanwhile the Animal Welfare Society and the Animal Refuge League are scrambling in preparation to move the dogs and pups to a new Portland based facility. The action the accused take now will determine when and if the animals go up for adoption. If appealed, the proceedings could still go on for some time. The Animal Welfare Society is not yet ready to field any requests regarding adoption. Follow this Story
