Adoption

Adopt Long and Medium Hair Cats

It's Kitten Season! Take home a mother and one (or more) of her kittens and we will waive her Adoption Fee. In 2008 AWS cared for more than 1,000 kittens. More Cats...

Can't adopt right now? Please consider a tax-deductible donation to AWS to help us continue doing great things for homeless animals.

Adoption fees:

- Kittens less than 6 months old are $99.00 or two for $160.00

- Cats 6 months to 8 years old are $79.00 each or two for $140.00

- Cats 8 years and up are $59.00 or two for $80.00

If you are interested in adopting a cat, simply fill out and print an application, submit an application online, or stop by the shelter to complete the process. The adoption fee includes spaying or neutering, the first series of vaccinations, leukemia testing, internal and external parasite control, a cat carrier, and a collar with ID tag. In light of pet overpopulation problems in Maine, the AWS makes sure that all of our cats and kittens are spayed or neutered before going into their new home.
