"Lily"
Did you know that there are nearly as many known species of Lily as there are breeds of dog recognized by the American Kennel Club? Meet this rare and beautiful "Lily". Genus Canis, Species Lupus, Breed "Hybrid" Labrador retriever and unknown sub-species. A new discovery, and only known for a year and a half. You will only find this exotic and highly coveted Lily here at AWS.
Not for the beginner gardener, this rare beauty needs a green thumb with a bit of experience and dedication to the hobby. Lily's ideal plot can be any of size and location but should be tended by mature gardeners with the patience needed to cultivate an elegant and sensitive bloom who at times thinks and behaves like a rogue weed.
She'll charm you with intelligence, grace and beauty, but as any horticulturist knows, without careful pruning and attention her roots will become established and overgrown. Before you know it she'll have taken over the whole garden. Consistent "training" will keep this exquisite hybrid on her trellis where she belongs and can be admired and appreciated as the show-stopper she truly is.
The exotic Lily featured here does best in a flower bed without others of her species, especially "tiger" lilies, though some may be grown together in harmony. If you have an established garden, please call to discuss whether this precious bulb is right for you.
